Problem

Users want to control default filter behavior in Service Search, specifically: (1) Having the Internal filter checked by default instead of Live Inventory, and (2) Having the location pre-populated when opening Service Search.

What We Found

Service Search has configurable default filter settings. While there is no way to disable the Live Inventory filter by default, there is a setting to enable the Internal filter by default. Location pre-population depends on whether a location is selected on the builder line before opening Service Search.

Solution

  1. To enable Internal filter by default: Navigate to Kaptio Settings > Trip & Itinerary Settings
  2. Find and enable the setting: Auto-Check “Internal” Filter
  3. For location pre-population: Select the location on the builder line BEFORE entering Service Search
  4. The location must be set on the builder line for it to be pre-populated in the Service Search filters

Notes

  • There is currently no way to make the Live Inventory filter unchecked by default
  • The Internal filter setting is a global setting that affects all users in the org
  • If you see an error when the page loads with no location selected, this is expected behavior - select a location on the builder line first
