Problem

Customer wanted to understand how the Owner ID field is determined when converting a Lead to a Trip in Kaptio, and whether there is a way to change the default behavior.

What We Found

The Owner ID field in the Lead to Trip conversion modal defaults to the Lead’s owner. This is hardcoded behavior in the Kaptio platform - there is no Kaptio setting to change which user is pre-populated as the default owner.

Solution

  1. Explained that the Owner ID field defaults to the Lead record’s owner
  2. Clarified that the Owner ID field IS editable in the conversion modal before completing the conversion
  3. Confirmed that if a different user is selected in the modal, the new Trip and Person Account will be owned by that selected user
  4. Advised that there is no Kaptio setting available to change this default behavior

Notes

  • The Owner ID field can be changed manually during the conversion process - it is not locked
  • Both the new Trip AND the new Person Account will inherit the owner selected in the conversion modal
  • This is standard Kaptio platform behavior and applies to all customers using Lead to Trip conversion
