Problem

Services with specific inventory statuses (such as ‘Closed’ or ‘Sold Out’) continue to appear in Service Search results, even though users expect these services to be hidden based on their inventory status.

What We Found

The ‘Hide Inventory Status’ feature requires TWO settings to be configured in Kaptio Settings. Enabling only the checkbox without populating the hierarchy field will not hide any services. Both the checkbox must be enabled AND the specific status values to hide must be entered in the ‘Hidden Inventory Status Hierarchy’ field.

Solution

  1. Navigate to Kaptio Settings → Trip & Itinerary Settings
  2. Ensure the ‘Hide Inventory Status’ checkbox is checked/enabled
  3. In the ‘Hidden Inventory Status Hierarchy’ field, enter the inventory status values you want to hide from Service Search
  4. For multiple statuses, separate them with commas WITHOUT spaces (e.g., ‘On Request,Closed’ or ‘Closed,Sold Out’)
  5. Save the settings
  6. Test Service Search to verify services with the specified inventory statuses no longer appear

Notes

  • The status values entered must match exactly the inventory status values used in your org
  • Multiple status values must be comma-separated WITHOUT spaces between them
  • Example format for multiple statuses: ‘On Request,Closed’ (correct) NOT ‘On Request, Closed’ (incorrect - has space after comma)

Warnings

⚠ Enabling only the ‘Hide Inventory Status’ checkbox without populating the ‘Hidden Inventory Status Hierarchy’ field will have no effect - services will still appear in search results
