Problem
Customer asked if Kaptio has built-in automated payment reminders and pointed to visible payment reminder settings in the system, asking what they do.
What We Found
Kaptio does not have payment reminders out of the box. The payment reminder settings visible in the system are not in use (deprecated/legacy settings that don’t function).
Solution
- Step 1: Create an email template with merge fields so each customer gets personalized payment details
- Step 2: Create an email alert to send the template
- Step 3: Build a Scheduled Flow that triggers based on Payment Schedule due dates (can be set to send a few days before or after the due date)

- Customer confirmed successful implementation: ‘I’ve sorted using Flows & email templates’
- This is a recurring question - multiple customers have asked about built-in payment reminders over the years
- The visible payment reminder settings in Kaptio are NOT functional - always clarify this to avoid confusion
